Ex-MARDUK Vocalist LEGION Issues Update On ELIZIUM Project

December 4, 2006

Former MARDUK vocalist Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted) has issued the following update on his ELIZIUM project (formerly REBELANGELS):

"We have written a shitload of new material that we are currently rehearsing and honing. Once we put down our flag with a first album we wanna make it stick! It's been such a pleasure for me and Emil [Dragutinovic, drums] to see how things has just fallen into place more and more during this fall, from our first drunken 'Yeah, let's do it' to how the now completed lineup is just on fire!

"Sometimes I wonder if Joinus [guitarist Jonas Mattson] is Fast Eddie Clarke's lost son or something, so it was given that after the lineup grew together and the chemistry started flowing that he would bring in a MOTÖRHEAD feel to the songs, especially through his solos. Just check out the track 'Instigator' once it is online and you'll see what I mean.

"The guy who stepped in to fill the slot for Jimmy Larsen, Marcus Lundberg of SARGATANAS REIGN is nuts; his Trey Azagtoth/Eddie Van Halen-inspired style is insane! We now have two lead/rythm guitarists that just shred through earwax like butter!

"Again the line up has changed, and I could go through some done to death cheese about reasons but I won't. I'll just hand the keyboard over to one of my absolute favourite persons in this world, Mr. B.War [a.k.a. Roger "Bogge" Svensson, ex-MARDUK bassist]:

"B.War: 'Hails, we just wanted everyone to know that the reason I've chosen not to be a full-time member anymore is simply because of the distance. It will be to hard to make this thing work being so sprawled out, me here in California and the rest of the band in Sweden. I will still appear on future recordings and challenge Rickard in a duel or two. In the meantime, I'm going to focus on my new project, a DANZIG 1-3 sounding hardrock/devilblues band. I'll be able to break some news about this project shortly.'

"The guy to step in instead is Rickard 'Tiwaz' Kottelin from Swedish progressive black metal masters and my inbred brothers LEGION. He is also the guy who produced, recorded and mixed theese songs.

"Anyhow, here is a new slab of metal, spanning over the influences we have thrown into the mix. We picked the tracks 'Gemini is the Snake', which is a long fukker that takes you places; 'Ninewinged Serpent', a rusty tin can filled with primal insanity; 'Jackal' is a heavy deathmetal song with some black and heavy metal crossovers; and then there is the 'Instigator' which turned out a bit crusty combined with the kind of melodies you would expect from an old black metal skeleton as myself... 'Gemini' and 'Nine..' are the two first ones to go into the player, stay tuned for more... now push the damn button!!"
